Podesta targeted for what he knows about ET
The news media and the Hillary Clinton campaign are trying to tie the hacked computer files being disseminated by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the government of Russia.
Moreover, the U.S. Intelligence Community, led by the clueless Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and the virulently anti-Russian Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan, is claiming their “intelligence” points to Russian hackers being behind the penetration of the computers of the Democratic Party, the Clinton campaign, and the commercial emails of Clinton campaign advisers John Podesta, Jennifer Palmieri, and others.
These charges are a campaign canard intended to further strain relations with Moscow, especially after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called for closer U.S.-Russian relations.
Assange still has contacts with his old global computer hacker network, many of whom were affiliated with the Hamburg-based Chaos Computer Club. Assange, a convicted Australian computer hacker, is more than capable of overseeing a network devoted to prying open the email of individuals processed by both government and private networks.
While the Clinton campaign and The Washington Post are trying to link WikiLeaks to Russian intelligence, conveniently being forgotten is the following Op-ed written on February 24, 2007 in the aforementioned newspaper by Cass Sunstein, who would be later named as President Obama’s “information czar.”
Sunstein, who is married to Samantha Power, the ardently anti-Russian U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, wrote: “Wikileaks.org, founded by dissidents in China and other nations, plans to post secret government documents and to protect them from censorship with coded software . . . the track record of the new collaborations suggests that they have immense potential.”
Assange once had a reputation as a notorious hacker.
Using the handle “Mendax,” Assange formed a hacker group called “International Subversives.”
The group was responsible for a number of well-publicized hacks, including penetration of systems at the Pentagon, NASA, Xerox, and SRI International in Palo Alto, California.
“Mendax” and two other hackers, “Trax” and “Prime Suspect,” linked up with one of the most notorious Australian hacker groups, “3 Oz – Melbourne.” The “3 Oz” group was was nested in Melbourne’s Jewish community and its chief hacker, “Phoenix,” was from a hard core pro-Israeli family.
In 1996, Assange pleaded guilty to 25 charges of hacking and related crimes. He received a sweetheart deal in which 6 other counts were dropped, he paid an A$2100 fine, and agreed to work with the Victoria Police Child Exploitation Unit, and, as WMR previously reported, the anti-hacking software development unit of the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) at Sandia National Laboratory in New Mexico.
Assange and his fellow “cypherpunks,” including the Chaos Computer Club, had carried out a number of high-visibility hacks during the early 1990s.
One of Chaos’s principals, a man code-named “Pengo,” aka Hans Heinrich Hübner, was selling data, including that retrieved from NATO systems, to the Soviet KGB.
However, a U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency source told this editor many years ago that the KGB never trusted Pengo because they realized he was a mercenary, willing to sell to the highest bidder.
Pengo and his accomplice, “Hagbard,” aka Karl Koch, later surrendered to the West German police but Koch was subsequently found dead in March 1989 in a German forest near Celle, his corpse partially burned with gasoline. Koch’s death was ruled a suicide.
One Chaos member later enjoyed respectability. Andy Mueller-Maguhn, the press spokesman for Chaos, became the at-large director for the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
The Obama administration recently relinquished all U.S. government control of Internet domain registration and naming conventions to ICANN.
Russian intelligence has no more reason to trust Assange and his accomplices now than their predecessor, the KGB, had in trusting Assange and Chaos in the early 1990s.
As for Clinton campaign manager Podesta ascribing to nefarious Russian agents what can be more easily explained by poor password security used by him and his fellow campaign staffers’ reliance on commercial email systems like Gmail and Hotmail, Podesta should know better.
Podesta was once the chief lobbyist for the Electronic Messaging Association (EMA), a pre-World Wide Web (WWW) industry association of the 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s, which represented the interests of such companies as Prodigy, Compuserve, Lotus, Netscape, and America On-Line.
Podesta, therefore, was an early follower of the exploits of hacker groups like the Chaos Computer Club, International Subversives, 3 Oz-Melbourne, and others.
It was from this pre-WWW era that Podesta first gained a real interest in such subjects as Area 51, extraterrestrial artifacts and bodies stored at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and UFO close encounters.
The main reason for Podesta’s interest was the overwhelming desire of the early computer hackers to gain access to what they believed were U.S. government computer files held on ETs and UFOs and that were stored in various military and civilian government computer systems.
In 2002, Podesta supported a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by the Coalition for Freedom of Information that requested all government files concerning a 1965 UFO crash landing Kecksburg, Pennsylvania.
Clinton campaign manager John Podesta knows that Russian intelligence would never be so foolish to leave their fingerprints on computer hacking audit trails. However, independent hackers are more likely to be fishing for anything that they can get involving ETs and Area 51. The hacking of Democratic computers and email is not because of Russian President Vladimir Putin but of “ET.”
Popularly known as the “X-Files,” the main quest of computer hackers for the “holy grail” of U.S. government data files was dramatized by a television series bearing the same name from 1993 to 2002.
Podesta was and remains a fan of the TV show and ET full disclosure in general.
Podesta has pushed for “full disclosure” of government UFO files as the chief of staff for Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama and as Mrs. Clinton’s campaign manager.
Of course, none of Podesta’s past experiences with the email industry, the Internet, or computer hackers have involved Russian agents, with the minor exception of Chaos’s somewhat aborted dalliance with the KGB.
One is more likely to find a “gray alien” or a “Man in Black” in Podesta’s threat universe than Russian FSB or SVR spies.
Hillary Clinton is blaming the wrong party for the computer hacking. It’s not the Russians but the ET hunters who are to blame.
And there are strong telltale signs that the hackers who penetrated Podesta’s emails were primarily interested in the Clinton campaign manager’s knowledge of ETs. The hackers hit pay dirt with their discovery of the following two emails sent to Podesta in 2015 from the late astronaut Edgar Mitchell:
