Coast To Coast AM - December 24, 2015 Other Side Communications & Angels

In the first half of our Christmas Eve program, author Whitley Strieber shared details of how his late wife Anne has been communicating with him from the Other Side since she passed away earlier this year, as well as the connections between the Visitor experience and the afterlife. He received reports that people's dead friends and relatives were showing up in the context of close encounters. Strieber himself had such an experience in 1985: "One of the beings that was surrounding me was a man I recognized from college and he was telling me all kinds of things about then secret, stealth aircraft." After the incident he looked up his friend, only to find that he had died nine months earlier.

The Visitors have always been with us in one form or another, and "I think they are the arbiters of the soul," he continued. The night Whitley's wife Anne died, he received a call from a psychic friend who didn't know she'd passed, and told him "Anne wanted me to call you." Subsequently, he started receiving more direct communications from her. One thing she conveyed is that souls that have passed are not privy to all information, yet she showed him an image of the universe-- a massive and vibrant web of lights like stars that represented all the planets that had life. After we die, what is left of us for the living is the love that we have made in this world, she also told him.

----------------------------------

In the second half, paranormal expert Rosemary Ellen Guiley addressed the existence of angels, where they come from, if they differ from ETs, and why it's important we recognize and welcome them in our lives. There have been many cases in which contactees have interpreted the ET beings they were interacting with as angels. "A lot of it is basically our perception...ETs come in many different forms and sometimes they seem to be beings of light, and come with the purpose of helping and assisting, which is one of the primary roles of angels, so there's a tremendous overlap in a lot of our contact experiences," she commented.

In a biblical sense, angels are the keepers of a cosmic order, and charged with meting out God's will, and sometimes that can mean to punish human beings, she noted. Over the course of history, our view of angels has changed quite a bit, and now most people perceive them as being all good and benevolent. Known for serving as guardians and guides, they do have other celestial functions that go beyond the daily affairs of humans, she added. Guiley also described cases of angelic intervention in which the beings appear to people in times of greatest need or crisis, sometimes under the guise of an ordinary human. "I think it's so important for us to recognize angels, and to establish a communication, an alignment with their force, and their presence, and their energy," she remarked.

Dr David Jacobs On Invoking The Name Of Jesus To Stop Alien Abductions

In this short clip Dr. Jacobs responds to those who report that invoking Christ during an abduction experience halts the operation in its tracks.

I wonder if there is a third option between the visitors being demons or aliens with no concept of religious figures from earth. Perhaps they are aliens that do have a concept of such figures and follow some sort of prime directive to not challenge those with such beliefs. In any event, I am a spiritual person with great interest in GnosticismTibetan Buddhism, Jewish mysticism, and esoteric Christianity and can see no harm in an abductee invoking the name of any religious figure they like to try and stop an unwanted experience. BTW, just getting angry has also been said to help.

I think all views on this subject should be considered. If you give any percentage of possibility to the chance that Jacobs is right, it'd be unwise to dismiss him as alarmist. On the other hand, giving totally in to fear is known to be blinding and we might hinder ourselves from coming to an understanding with good intended and/or misunderstood entities. If this is a spiritually related phenomenon, or if you rather, has a consciousness based component, an atheistic world view could certainly limit the ability to fight negative aspects of it or entertain positive ones. The thing that binds all researchers, is that they are promoting the idea that this is a real phenomenon and that is the first battle that must be won for all of these approaches to progress.

To hear some constructive criticism of David Jacob's scary view on things, check out this recent interview I did with with Alex Tsakiris from Skeptiko.com. We get into the topic near the end of the recording.

In 2013, one poll showed that nearly half of all Americans (48 percent) believe UFOs may be a sign of extraterrestrial visitation; another found that 10 percent of Americans claim to have actually witnessed an actual UFO; and yet another showed that 2.9 million Americans believe they had actually been abducted by aliens.” This discussion also focuses on claims of communication with aliens and other so-called “higher beings.”

Dave Cote is heading up a team of techies who are planning to launch a UFO hunting satellite into space. Their project is called “CubeSat for Disclosure – Low-Earth Orbit Satellite” and is seeking crowd funding via Indiegogo.com for financing. Thus far they have raised over $11,000 and there are still 24 days left in the campaign. Although their goal is $50,000, they already have enough to launch a small satellite with cameras.

We talk to Dave, a software engineer and project manager, about how he got interested in UFOs, and how the satellite project came to be. We also talk about the publicity he has received since the launch of the crowd sourcing campaign.

Coast To Coast AM - December 18, 2015 Bigfoot, UFOs, & Mysterious Disappearances

Filling in for George, guest host Jimmy Church talked with Micah Hanks, who is representative of a younger generation of researchers with a broad view of the paranormal and its interconnectedness. With an interested but skeptical approach, Hanks says, “What I hope to foster in people is the proper way to go about studying this subject.” For instance, his interest in Bigfoot as a real phenomenon is not dampened by his skepticism regarding the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film, which he says does not provide conclusive proof that the cryptid exists.

Hanks bristles at the designation “Ufologist,” and prefers to call himself a writer and researcher who tries to “find the facts and relate them in reliable and intelligent ways.” He discussed the famous 1978 Fredrick Valentich UFO sighting and aircraft disappearance but discounted the standard explanation that the pilot was disoriented or suicidal. Hanks actually got in touch with Valentich’s girlfriend and found out that the recordings of his last radio transmissions were mysteriously edited before release. He also mentioned historical reports by sailors of ghostly red lights in the same general area of the Australian coast.

Hanks described the MH370 aircraft mystery as “probably the single greatest disappearance of our time.” Although he currently thinks that the plane almost certainly went down somewhere in the Indian Ocean, the fact that the flight data recorder was shut down in mid-flight is one of the more suspicious aspects of the case. One caller brought up the allegation that there were three Chinese scientists on the flight that may have had a patent that was valuable enough to steal. Hanks seriously doubts other scenarios that have been brought up in the past, such as aliens, time travel, or some sort of hijacking.

Coast To Coast AM - December 16, 2015 ET & Shamanic Contacts

In the second half, holistic practitioner, shamanic counselor and contactee Sandy Corcoran discussed her communications with ETs and Star Beings, as well as her work with indigenous and ancient wisdom traditions. Her encounters with various beings began in her early years, and included abductions by the "Greys" and "Praying Mantis" types. Some of the entities are "denser in consciousness or intent," and vary from interdimensional to extraterrestrial in origin, she explained. The beings are generally here to raise awareness about potential damages to Earth's environment, and while aboard their ships (sometimes in underwater bases), she said they showed her images on large screens of what the planet would look like if humankind destroyed the air, the water, and the trees.

She spoke about her work using Toth Tarot cards, a specific deck that draws from ancient Egyptian symbols. Her particular divination style helps people to find clarity in their lives rather than predict specific outcomes. Corcoran said she also uses a Medicine or Wisdom Wheel, which assists people in getting to know themselves on a deeper level. "On the Medicine Wheel, there is no past, present, or future. There is only now. What is going to happen in the future is based on how you awaken yourself within that wheel."

Spam or Disinfo? Repeated But Unattributed Quotes About UFOs That Crowd the Internet

Anyone who follows UFO sightings knows there’s plenty of junk out there. But how much of that junk has a purpose, is supposed to be there, is… planted? In other words, is the Internet getting littered with alien and UFO-related spam in order to drown out the legitimate stories and investigations? Probably. Do regular folks not “in” on this scheme unknowingly but quite effectively promote this disinfo? Probably.

Pinning down who’s disinfo and who’s just crazy or stupid, however, is extremely challenging! But I’m going to attempt to do that today. (PS, I’ll fill you in on how Space.com, Life’s Little Mysteries, Fox News, and the Discovery Channel are completely in cahoots… they frame and lie about UFO stories together, and it is embarrassingly transparent… in an upcoming blog.)
There are a few key phrases that constantly pop up in my Twitter feed and Google alerts, as they feature the word “UFO” in them. I cannot find the origin of these quotes – they’re not from a famous film or author as far as I can tell. Yet they get restated verbatim over and over and over and over again. Who’s putting these quotes online? A lot of people – on Twitter and forums mostly – and more often than not, these people appear to be taking credit for the “original” thought.

The first phrase is: “Have you noticed since everyone has a cell phone these days no one talks about seeing UFOs like they used to?”
Occasionally, you’ll see this phrase show up with the word “camcorders” instead of cell phones. There are 4,190 exact results for this phrase, however! Where is this phrase coming from? A suspended or deleted account from Yahoo answers, a random and seemingly legitimate Twitter account (one of HUNDREDS I’d guess), a message board rounding up funny quotes, and elsewhere:

Coast To Coast AM - December 9, 2015 Kecksburg UFO & Cryptids

In the first half, paranormal investigator Stan Gordon discussed UFO and cryptozoological phenomena including numerous Bigfoot and Thunderbird reports, mystery cats, and also shared an update on the famous Kecksburg incident that occurred 50 years ago tonight. On December 9, 1965 a mysterious acorn-shaped fiery object fell from the sky near Kecksburg, PA (view mock-up photo). A witness, volunteer fireman Jim Romansky, described seeing unusual symbols or markings on the object, while another witness said he touched it, and it was as smooth as glass.

A recent theory suggested that the Kecksburg object may have been a GE Mark 2 Reentry vehicle, a secretive spy capsule, but Gordon showed photos of such a vehicle to Romansky, and he said there was not much resemblance. Reports of giant birds have been made in the Pennsylvania area for years, said Gordon. Descriptions include wingspans of 10 to 20 ft., with some of the birds looking like giant bats with leathery skin, while others appearing prehistoric like a pterodactyl. One area that consistently gets strange phenomena reports is the heavily wooded Chestnut Ridge, particularly in Fayette County, he noted. Intriguingly, there are a number of well-documented cases where Bigfoot and UFOs were seen together at the same time and place, he added

The UFO Debate: Oberg vs. Kean - WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT JAMES OBERG'S TRACK RECORD

Failure Of The 'Science' Of Obergian Debunking

Debunking the UFO Debunkers by Patrick Cooke

Reader Comment:
I am reading UFOs for the 21st Century Mind and Oberg pops up every now and again on various cases that Richard Dolan cites, where Dolan points out that his explanations are rubbish.
He’s doing classic debunking – underplaying what happened, and then trying to explain great cases by saying witnesses saw two different things – like a meteor, or Venus, and then the close observation was the moon or something like that.  Splitting a close approach of something unique into various mistaken observations. Stuff like that. Specifically I remember he tried to account for one good sighting as space junk de-orbiting.
I remember seeing Oberg on Above Top Secret trying to explain away possible Shuttle/orbital UFOs as ice crystals being moved by attitude thrusters. He claimed they were at the same time, but when challenged to show the data, could not produce it. Also, I don’t think there was any signs of thruster movement as you get when they really operate. IT’s hard to remember the exact debate points – except that it had him pegged as a clever troll. He could talk about minute details very well.

Oberg is on my dislike list along with Shermer, and Tyson and Nye and others ... the media debunker club.

If these are not the official gatekeepers of the truth, then where are they? Ie. They are paid liars for the MIC ....

Coast To Coast AM - November 29, 2015 Hollywood, UFOs & Disclosure

UFOs have been a popular theme in Hollywood movies ever since flying saucers became a household phenomenon. UFO film scholar and expert, Robbie Graham joined George Knapp to update us on the history of UFOs in films, Hollywood's relationship to disclosure, and how the US military has played a role in the cinematic depiction of unidentified craft. The first Hollywood film to treat the subject, The Flying Saucer (1950), was released just a few years after the first sightings of the modern era. Filmmakers use real ufological research as creative inspiration for their projects, inserting some fact-based material into fictional scripts, and in the process popularize the subject for cinema and television, he explained.

Yet, by putting some factual information into a fantastical genre such as science-fiction, what is real is often obscured by the sensationalizing of the material, Graham noted. For the 1951 film,"The Day the Earth Stood Still," the US Dept. of Defense denied corporation with the filmmakers, he reported, though it's suspected the CIA may have had input, and interestingly a number of creative people involved in the project such as producer Darryl Zanuck came from a military/intelligence/propaganda background.

Through the 1940s and 50s, the military had an active policy to debunk or demystify the UFO phenomenon, and present it as a non-serious topic, and this vision took hold in pop culture in the ensuing years, Graham remarked. Certain filmmakers such as Steven Spielberg have had a long term fascination with the UFO/alien subject, and his films such as "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977) served to galvanize interest in the topic. He did not receive cooperation from the Air Force or NASA as he requested, (his script portrayed a cover-up and disinformation efforts). In turning him down, NASA sent him a 20-page letter asking him not to make the movie at all, as they feared that it would be to UFOs what Jaws was to sharks, Graham cited.

In the first hour, Michael Madsen, director of the new film, The Visit, an investigation of the cultural impact to the disclosure of intelligent alien life, and Prof. Sheryl Bishop, a social psychologist featured in the film, joined the program. The basic question of 'what is a human being?' is explored in the The Visit, "because by meeting something different, we would be perhaps able to see our own selves and world in a new light," Madsen commented. Having access to the Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs lent gravitas to the project, Bishop added.

Coast To Coast AM - November 25, 2015 Crop Circle Revelations & Alternative Health

In the first half, registered pharmacist Ben Fuchs discussed the latest in health information and natural approaches. Speaking of Thanksgiving, he spoke about gratitude as an important part of the spiritual, mental, and emotional strategies that can keep a person healthy. He also cited how relaxation (through simple things like taking a hot bath, or deep breathing) can improve one's skin and stimulate collagen production. "We have a high tech society, where we think it's about surgery, we think it's about...being medicated when it comes to health. Well, what has that gotten us? We've got hundreds of millions of people who are sick," he lamented.

Fuchs maintains that all diseases stem from a fouled bloodstream that is caused by substances that come in through the digestive track, as well as nutritional deficiencies. A good supplement program can help counteract this, he said. Many diseases, he continued, are partially related to deficiencies in the B vitamins and he recommended taking them in liquid form which can be accessed more readily into the body. Type 2 Diabetes affects millions of Americans, and is a progressive disease that relates to how people process sugar, which includes starches such as bread. Fuchs suggested people "re-sensitize their sweet button" so they can consume less sugar and still be satisfied.

-----------------------------------

In the latter half, crop circle researcher Patty Greer who has visited more than 100 unusual formations, shared some of her experiences and conclusions, as well as delved into the work of the pioneering scientist William Levengood (who passed away in 2013). During her research, she passed out in the center of an English crop circle and had an out-of-body or transformative experience. As she lay in the formation, her vision seemed enhanced and she reported observing transparent energy or plasma forms moving in the sky that had egg sacs and seemed to be reproducing.

The reason the Wiltshire area of the UK has been an epicenter for crop circles is that it's sitting over the largest salt aquifer in the world, as well as ley lines connecting sacred sites, she said. Levengood's research revealed that there's a plasma vortex operating in the fields where crop circles occur, and these vortices often travel in counter-rotating pairs coming out of the ground. He teamed up with researcher Penny Kelly and they concluded that the messages of crop circles relate to Earth, ETs, and human consciousness.

Conflict Radio - November 25, 2015 Study of the UFO Phenomenon

Lee Speigel is a reporter for the Huffington Post covering UFOs and other non-conventional stories in the Huffington Post's Weird News section. He has been covering the UFO phenomenon since 1975. In this interview we talk about Lee's personal UFO encounter, and a very exciting announcement regarding the 2016 International UFO Congress. Lee will be conducting a live interview on-stage with UFO researcher Jacques Vallée.

Lee first met Jacques during the creation of a presentation he organized for the United Nations regarding UFOs in 1978. At that time, Sir Eric Gairy, the Prime Minister of Grenada, was petitioning the UN to develop a department that oversee the worldwide study of the UFO phenomenon. Lee and Jacques have kept in touch ever since.

Conflict Paracast - November 22, 2015 Investigating UFOs in History

Gene and Chris present Chris Aubeck, co-author (with Martin Shough) of “Return to Magonia: Investigating UFOs in History.” To understand the real nature of the UFO phenomenon, it’s important to evaluate UFO sightings across the centuries. Are cases from hundreds of years ago similar to modern cases? If UFOs are an age-old phenomenon, how does that fact provide clues as to what’s really going on? All in all, this will be a truly fascinating session that will move the discussion about UFOs into fascinating areas.

Coast To Coast AM - November 10, 2015 UFOs & Lost Civilizations

In the first hour, researcher Robert Morningstar discussed footage that appears to show a UFO passing behind the Lunar Excursion Module as it was being deployed to the lunar surface from Apollo 17. "It is, to me, the most stunning piece of film to come out of the Apollo program," he marveled, noting that not only does the footage appear to show a UFO, but also contains a reflected reaction of an astronaut seeing the craft while aboard Apollo 17. Morningstar dismissed the possibility that the UFO is an illusion or reflection and stressed that it appears to be self-luminous in the film. While he hopes to have the footage available at his website around Christmas, Morningstar shared some stills of film for the first time with C2C. During his appearance, he also briefly discussed X-ray analysis of JFK which seemingly verified his own research into Kennedy's infamous assassination.

Looking through the images that evening, he noticed one showed a small, dark shape in the western sky towards the Humboldt Mountains.

He is sure he neither saw nor heard an aircraft at the time, and has been puzzling over the object ever since.

In response to an Otago Daily Times inquiry, an Airways New Zealand spokeswoman confirmed air traffic control had no record of aircraft in the area at that time.

Waghorn said the object appeared in only one of the photos, so he felt confident in ruling out that it was a speck of dirt or small insect on his lens.

He had always been sceptical about UFO stories, ''but now I sympathise with them.''

"I'm sure there's a reasonable, rational explanation - I don't think it's green men from outer space - but whenever I look at it, I think it's such a weird shape.

"It doesn't look like a bird or a plane - it's got me baffled."
