UFO Investigator Frank Edwards

Grant Cameron of http://presidentialufo.com has cataloged many interesting facts regarding American Presidents and how they have dealt with the issue of UFOs. The first one of interest to many is Harry Truman since he was the first Commander and Chief that had to deal with the subject, and founded what would later become the UFO document haven of the CIA. As Camerons' site says "There has always been a controversy as to what President Truman's views were on 'flying saucers.'" However many things detailed by Cameron point to Truman being very interested indeed.

Could a picture of Truman and UFO author Frank Edwards  I obtained through a friend of my grandmother be further evidence of his interest? It is hard to say seeing as how Edwards was also a newsman and I don't know the circumstances of their meeting. I also don't have any idea if Truman was fully aware of who Edwards was, or his UFO research. I no longer own the picture, but while I did I shared it with the world via the internet, it can now be viewed HERE.

Update: Grant Cameron Showcases Picture I Brought to the Limelight of UFO Investigator Frank Edwards and President Harry Truman

\
This is an autographed photo of Harry S. Truman and Frank Edwards, a 1950's UFO author, taken in 1954. Frank also used to write for Fate Magazine. It was given to me by a friend of my grandmother because of my interest in UFOS. Kind of makes you wonder.

That is what I had to say about Edwards back in 2007. Here is some information and material I only came across recently.
Before the 1967 Congress of Scientific Ufologists, Gray Barker,
the chairman, received two letters and one phone call telling
him that Frank Edwards, the noted radio newscaster and champion
of flying saucers, would die during the convention. One day
after the meeting was convened there was an announcement that
Frank Edwards had succumbed to an "apparent" heart attack. How
could anybody know that Edwards was going to die, unless it was planned?

When It Comes To UFOs, Why Do Debunkers Do That Debunking Thing They Do?

I was asked today why I think UFO debunkers (and so-called UFO "skeptics" which really, are one and the same) do what they do. Why do they care so damn much about proving UFOs don't exist? (They've gotten lazy; they don't even bother. The subject isn't even worth their time to mock, much. But still, they have at it, as any journey into the JREF will reveal.)

After all these years, I still don't have an answer.

It's easy to say "Because they're afraid." No doubt that's true in many cases, at some level. At the same time, it's too simplistic and breezy a response; to dismiss their pathological denials with that answer. I used the example today, to my questioner, that, while I'm not a Christian (or a religious Jew or a Muslim, etc.) it's not because I'm "afraid." That's what many a believer of anything will say of the non-believer. "They're afraid." Somewhere in there these UFO deniers are afraid, I suppose, but there's more going on to their blind denials than just that.

Sometimes these crazy debunkers are paid shills. Sure that' s paranoid conspiracy talk, but we know what they say: "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not watching you..." Sometimes the debunkers are deeply invested in their egos and paychecks. If they're tenured, if they want to continue getting published by peer reviewed journals, if they want to move on up in the academic and scientific world, bashing the topic of UFOs is an easy way to ensure good standing.  I suspect a good number of these debunker types have an idea that there really is something to UFOs, but... but... well, they just can't bring themselves to be honest. Too much at risk. Careers, salaries, reputations.

It's also intellectually easy. Who has the time to read all of Richard Dolan's books, or delve into Vallee, or the history of, say, the Contactee era (which is not over by the way.) Who has the time to be authentic and explore even just one aspect of the whole messy, complicated, rich, confusing world of UFOs? Easier to just say "UFOs?! Feh, man, don't waste my time!"

As my questioner earlier today said, "UFOs means Unidentified Flying Object." What's so threatening about that? I see something in the sky that's unidentifiable; what, we're supposed to ignore it?

Many a UFO I've seen I decided, after reflection, that they were probably man made objects and nothing to get much excited about. But some, well, some, remain mysterious indeed. And I'm not even beginning to talk aliens yet.

The Triangle

That giant triangle I saw years ago. FACT. Hey debunkers, still with me? So let's assume it's a human made object. Okay. We don't know if that's a FACT but it could be. Either way, the reality is: frighteningly huge triangle, low in the sky, blocking out stars, having physical effects upon human witnesses. (muffled sounds, sensation of slow motion, inertia.) Then, within the literal blink of an eye, it zooms off with incredible speed, all the while soundless. FACT.

Aliens, schmaliens, what the hell was that thing???!!! Aren't you curious? Aren't you interested in what our government is doing up there, scaring the hell out of citizens? If it isn't the government and/or private industry, that's worse in many ways for the skeptics, because that means: yes, aliens.  Then of course we have the good old global industrial military complex, where private industry and government meet and make cozy bedfellows. They're doing whatever the hell they want to do with our taxes and the rest of us hoi poli be damned.

So either way, Debunker-ites, we have a mystery that needs to be addressed. Are you really so damn arrogant, so positive, there' s no there there? That it's all just weather balloons? After all these decades??!! Still?

Missing Time

I've had at least two episodes of missing time -- shared, with another person -- related to UFOs. That is huge, and I am still demanding answers. Who, or what, the hell took away hours of my life and my memory???!!! That's a supremely valid question and one that does not merit derision. Yet, the UFO skeptic blithely dismisses such topics with arrogant waves of their hands. They prefer to stoop to accusations of being emotionally needy, or prone to fantasy, or high, drunk, mentally ill, a liar, etc. We all know the drill by now.

Is It Because They Are Stupid?

Maybe the answer to the question is, simply, they're stupid. One can be highly intelligent in one area; say, a genius math professor, and be boringly, stupendously stupid in other areas. So the idea that our government -- any, and all governments -- are quite capable of crimes against their own citizenry doesn't occur to them. Or if it does, with surprising naivety, such FACTS (MK ULTRA, etc.) are dismissed as no longer germane. That was then, after all, nothing going on now.  The idea that strange experiences happen to far more of us than we can imagine extends far beyond their comfort level. There has to be logic involved: dream states, and terms that satisfy like "confirmation bias" and "pareidolia" and such. And when those get used up; the old "we all want to believe in something ..." nonsense to appease those of us who've seen something. Who've experienced something.

The 'No Proof' Retort

So the UFO debunker says there's no proof aliens exist. The deceitful comment often made, that "When anyone says UFOs we know they really mean aliens from space" is thrown around with the intent of immediately trivializing any possible honest discussion. And while it's true no proof exists of aliens -- although we've come damn close and there is a positively and magnificently enormous amount of evidence -- the idea is not at all ridiculous. Mind games and semantic masturbations about "why would aliens come all the way to ..." and "aliens no doubt exist, waaaaaaaay out there, but not here..." are just more of the lazy, and dishonest, empty statements from the UFO debunker and skeptic.

1952 Washington UFO Photo and Video Debunked

The images in question are certainly bunk, but the incident in question is certainly not.

http://www.amazon.com/Invasion-Washington-UFOs-Over-Capitol/dp/0380814706

INTERVIEW: DR. KEVIN RANDLE - UFOlogist and author of Invasion Washington: UFOs Over the Capitol -- discussed the 60th anniversary of the Washington D.C. incident. This month marks the 60th anniversary of the Great Alien Invasion of 1952 or, as it might more appropriately be called, the Great Alien Reconnaissance of 1952. The UFOs allegedly just flew around; no one saw them land. But were they aliens? This much is undisputed: Late on the evening of July 19, 1952, air traffic controllers at Washington National Airport spotted a curious cluster of seven blips on their radar screens. Similar blips were sighted by radar operators at Andrews and Bolling Air Force bases. National's control tower contacted commercial aircraft in the vicinity and asked their pilots if they had seen anything unusual. Why yes, Capt. S.C. "Casey" Pierman of Capital Air Flight 807 radioed back. He saw six bright lights streaking across the sky, "like falling stars without tails." F-94 jets were scrambled from Delaware's New Castle Air Force Base (the runway at Andrews was under repair), but the pilots saw nothing. The Pentagon was already studying the escalating number of UFO sightings — under the aegis of Project Blue Book — and the officer in charge added the Washington outbreak to his growing list. Then, the next weekend, it happened all over again. National Airport's air traffic controllers tracked a dozen unexplained blips. Fighter jets were again scrambled, and on their second circuit, pilots saw bright lights speeding away from them. "I tried to make contact with the bogies below 1,000 feet," pilot William Patterson later told investigators. "I was at my maximum speed but . . . I ceased chasing them because I saw no chance of overtaking them." The media had a field day. A headline on the front page of The Washington Post read: " 'Saucer' Outran Jet, Pilot Says; Air Force Puts Lid on Inquiry." After the earlier outbreak, a reporter for the Washington Daily News had written: "Recent attempts to explain 'saucers' as optical illusions have been shaken by recent radar sightings. Illusions don't show up on a radar screen."

Bill Nye Attempts to Debunk Bob Jacobs' UFO Claim

Professor Jacobs is a professor at Bradley University where e instructs and advises radio/television majors. He holds a PhD in Dramatic art and graduated from University of California Santa Barbara. In the 1960's he was in the Air Force. He was the officer in charge of optical instrumentation and his job was to film ballistic missile tests launched from Vandenberg Air Force base in California. In 1964, during a test of the first missile they filmed, they caught on film a UFO traveling right next to the missile. He says it looked like two saucers cupped together with a round ping-pong ball like surface on top. The film showed that from the ball a beam of light was directed at the missile. This happened four times, from four different angles, as the missile was about 60 miles up and traveling at 11,000 to 14,000 miles an hour. The missile tumbled out of space and the UFO left. The next day he was shown the film by his commanding officer and was told to never speak of this again. He said, if it ever comes up you are to say that it was laser strikes from the UFO. Professor Jacobs thought this unusual because in 1964 lasers were in their infancy in the labs but he never the less agreed and hasn't talked about it for 18 years. ----

Conflict Paracast - April 19, 2015 The Roswell Slides

Gene and Chris present military veteran and prolific science fact and science fiction author Kevin D. Randle, who returns to the Paracast to talk about the state of the UFO field. The discussion will include the ongoing controversy over the alleged Roswell Slides, involving two possible photographs of a creature that some suggest was an alien recovered as a result of the Roswell UFO crash. But does this story hold up ahead of a public tell-all event scheduled for May 5, 2015 in
Mexico City?

After Show
In which Gene and Chris discuss the growing possibility that Ray Stanford may be poised to reveal at least some of the UFO evidence he claims he has in his possession. Surprisingly, there’s even the possibility that Stanford may be attempting to integrate some of his work with MUFON’s research. This may include some element of training researchers. Chris also responds to potshots against him that he is an apologist for Stanford, and is suspending his disbelief. Chris explains again why he feels the UFO field is on the wrong track, concentrating too much on anecdotal evidence, and he again discusses the San Luis Valley Camera Project that he’s spearheading, in order to monitor possible UFO activity. We also talk about Kevin D. Randle’s involvement in chasing footnotes, trying to go back to the original source of UFO-related material. The conversation also covers the problems with the Roswell Slides and the chain of evidence.

Investigating UFOs

Paranormal Matters

Kevin Randle discussed his decades-long work as a UFO investigator, and some of the most significant cases he's examined. A former Captain in the Air Force, he described himself as a "skeptical believer," who accepts the idea that we've been visited by extraterrestrials but thinks these visitations are "not nearly as widespread as a lot of the other UFO researchers would have us believe. Lee Speigel talked about how most reports of UFOs and extraordinary creatures & events are either hoaxed or cases of misidentification.

*NEW* STRANGE CASES OF MISSING PEOPLE 411 (2015)

KIDPUJA ᑭᖇOᗪᑌᑕTIOᑎᔕ
Published on Mar 31, 2015

Petition:

MAKE THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR ACCOUNTABLE FOR PERSONS MISSING IN OUR NATIONAL PARKS & FORESTS

Missing-411 is the first comprehensive book about people who have disappeared in the wilds of North America. It's understood that people routinely get lost, some want to disappear but this story is about the unusual. Nobody has ever studied the archives for similarities, traits and geographical clusters of missing people, until now.

A tip from a national park ranger led to 3+ years and a 7000 hour investigative effort into understanding the stories behind people who have vanished. The book chronicles children, adults and the elderly who disappeared, sometimes in the presence of friends and relatives. As Search and Rescue personnel exhaust leads and places to search, relatives start to believe kidnappings and abductions have occurred. The belief by the relatives is not an isolated occurrence; it replicates itself time after time, case after case across North America.

The research depicts 28 clusters of missing people across the continent, something that has never been exposed and was a shocking find to researchers. Topography does play a part into the age of the victims and certain clusters have specific age and sex consistency that is baffling. This is not a phenomenon that has been occurring in just the last few decades, clusters of missing people have been identified as far back as the 1800's.

Some of the issues that are discussed in each edition:

• The National Park Service attitude toward missing people

• How specific factors in certain cases replicate themselves in different clusters

• Exposing cases involving missing children that aren't on any national database

• Unusual behavior by bloodhounds/canines involved in the search process

• How storms, berries, swamps, briar patches, boulder fields and victim disabilities play a role in the disappearance

• The strategies of Search and Rescue personnel need to change under specific circumstances

From a statistical standpoint, the Bigfoot connection to this topic and the UFO topic in general is not to be given much credence. However, from an individual case standpoint, there are a few missing persons cases that are worth considering and a few more UFO Bigfoot connection cases that are compelling.

In regard to a Bigfoot kidnapping a person, there are some Native American accounts and surely there would be a few bad seeds out there in the Bigfoot population, just as with with the human population. None of this evidence is nearly conclusive or should be cause for much concern, given the large body of evidence suggesting these primates are benign.
As to the UFO Bigfoot connection, Stan Gordon has brought forth some interesting cases, which again, statistically can be ignored. However, in the interest of being open minded and non-dismissive of seemingly honest people, I think it's first important to note the large body of evidence supporting an alien source for UFO reality. If you can get on board with that, the next thing to consider, is the oft reported "screen memories," of abductees. These are false memories planted by the alien visitors to obscure the real events that took place during the abduction. This is perhaps more likely than the Bigfoot being abducted too and dropped off at the scene where these two phenomena bump heads, and certainly more plausible than sightings of a real-life Chewbacca!
http://cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/wookiees-bf/
But of course these missing persons cases are no joke at all. They're very disturbing. I hope we can all agree on the petition below if noting else.
