Earthfiles investigative reporter Linda Moulton Howe discussed the unexplained lights coming from Ceres, new data about Saturn's moon Enceladus, and explanations for the mysterious rumbling booms and metallic sounds and their possible connection to changes in the Earth's core.
The DAWN spacecraft approaching the dwarf planet Ceres in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter returned images that showed two bright "lights" shining from a dark crater. Not far from this crater was another large crater that is curiously a 6-sided hexagon. Linda spoke with Marc Rayman, Ph.D., Dawn Mission Director and Chief Engineer, NASA/JPL, who expressed excitement that the spacecraft had reached its target after 7½ years of interplanetary flight. Because of the direction DAWN is currently flying over Ceres, we won't get more pictures of the "lights" until early May, though he surmises they aren't indicative of technological signs or extraterrestrial life. New data has emerged from the University of Colorado Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) about Enceladus, one of Saturn's 31 moons. The NASA Cassini spacecraft has photographed Enceladus, and it's estimated to have a 1-mile-deep ocean with a water volume equal to the American Great Lakes. The intriguing new data is that underwater vents are spewing silica, and scientists calculate that the water at the bottom of the moon's ocean must be at least 194 degrees Fahrenheit. Dr. Sascha Kempf with LASP confirmed that Enceladus is one of the best candidates for finding life in the solar system, but he suggested we need better instruments for conducting further tests. Since 2011, mysterious rumbling booms and sounds continue to baffle various communities in the US, Canada and spots around the world. The phenomenon has provoked the owner of a fossil fuel research and recovery corporation in the Southeastern US to come forward with his information about the Earth's core and interactions from the core to the mantle that could finally be an explanation of some of the boom phenomenon. Speaking with Linda under the name of "James Smith," he confirmed an earlier whistleblower's conclusions that the booms were connected to changes in the Earth's core. Smith's analysis reinforces current geophysical investigations of the Earth's magnetic fields and the potential for a magnetic pole flip as early as the end of the 21st Century. More here.
UFO Update
First hour guest, documentary filmmaker James Fox shared an update on UFOs. He is continuing to work on his upcoming documentary/feature 701 with Tracey Torme, which explores the origins of the UFO phenomenon and the government suppression of evidence. 701 refers to the number of UFO cases that remained unexplained as part of the US Air Force's Project Blue Book. Fox has recently been studying materials at the National Archives regarding the 1964 Socorro, NM UFO case in which police officer Lonnie Zamora approached a shiny egg-shaped object with occupants, after it landed. Fox will screen his documentary I Know What I Saw and participate in a panel at the Sonoma International Film Festival this weekend.
One criticism often wrongly directed at UFO investigators is that “if UFOs are real”, by which they mean more than misinterpretations of natural phenomena or terrestrial aircraft, “then why are they only ever witnessed in isolated pockets of the Unites States?” While there are many American sightings, UFOs are not isolated to the United States and have been reported all over the world.
As this book demonstrates, UFOs are a worldwide phenomenon, and one that transcends the modern era to reach back to antiquity.
I saw my first UFO in Swansea Bay, an inlet of the Bristol Channel in Wales. This was probably in January 2003. I was 16 years old at the time and my father was driving me and my younger brother home from town along the Mumbles Road, Swansea. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the exact time of the sighting, but it was probably the early afternoon. It was definitely still very light outside.
While we were stopped at a red light, my eyes turned to the relatively cloudless sky and I saw what at first glance I took to be an airplane. I quickly realised, by the strange way the object was moving, that it could not have been. As well as being very curious, I remember getting a bit scared at this point because I really did not know what I was looking at.
The object was moving up and down diagonally from right to left over and over again in the sky. It was a shining white line or rod, almost silver in parts, and appeared to have small round lights spaced out equally in a horizontal line along the center of its body. I got the impression that the lights were moving around the object.
After registering that what I was looking at was very odd, I pointed the strange moving object out to my father and younger brother. For some reason it took them both a little while to find the object in the sky. After watching and discussing this unusual object among ourselves for a couple of minuets, the traffic light turned green again and we began to move off. As we were moving away, I continued to watch the object for another minute or so until, most strangely of all, the object suddenly disappeared with a silver flash, similar to a camera flash.
Whatever this was, it definitely had a very real and lasting effect on me and were chiefly responsible for my general interest in UFOs turning supernova. At the time I only had two or three books on UFOs, but since then I have contributed to numerous UFO magazines and websites, and even written several UFO books of my own.

A certain professor, who wished to remain anonymous, was engaged in a discussion with Neil Armstrong during a NASA symposium.
Professor: What REALLY happened out there with Apollo 11?
Armstrong: It was incredible, of course we had always known there was a possibility, the fact is, we were warned off! (by the Aliens). There was never any question then of a space station or a moon city.
Professor: How do you mean "warned off"?
Armstrong: I can't go into details, except to say that their ships were far superior to ours both in size and technology - Boy, were they big!... and menacing! No, there is no question of a space station.
Professor: But NASA had other missions after Apollo 11?
Armstrong: Naturally-NASA was committed at that time, and couldn't risk panic on Earth. But it really was a quick scoop and back again.
Armstrong confirmed that the story was true but refused to go into further detail, beyond admitting that the CIA was behind the cover-up.

Ken Johnston spent 23 years at NASA working with numerous space programs as well as the astronauts who manned those missions. He was one of the five original pilots who tested all of the Apollo equipment including the lunar module which later carried Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. He is familiar with the processes of checks and balances used within NASA to secure the safety of a mission.

While working at a NSA facility he was shown photographs taken by the Lunar Orbiter of the moon that showed detailed artificial structures. These photos were taken prior to the Apollo landing in 1969.

In the first half, Dave Schrader (email) welcomed author and UFO researcher, Bill Birnes, who discussed a wide range of UFO topics from the highly anticipated May 5 press conference in Mexico, to the disclosure comment made by former Obama advisor John Podesta. Birnes also addressed Pres. Obama's recent comments on the Jimmy Kimmel show about UFOs. A number of presidents have brought up the topic, such as Ronald Reagan talking about seeing an unexplained craft when he was flying in a plane over the Mojave Desert, and Pres. Carter filing a formal UFO sighting report when he was governor of Georgia. Though Obama approached the topic humorously, what he conveyed-- that he was not allowed to reveal anything on the subject, rang true, Birnes stated.
Podesta has been an adamant supporter for open government, and believes the govt. keeps too many secrets, especially regarding UFO files, said Birnes, who added that if Hillary Clinton becomes president, Podesta may try to influence her toward disclosure. Regarding the so-called 'Roswell Slides' which are said to depict aliens and will be revealed in May, Birnes was somewhat skeptical. The slide that's been leaked shows an alien that appears somewhat insectoid in appearance, which doesn't match the more human description of witnesses of the Roswell aliens, he noted.

In the latter half, journalist and UFO researcher, Nigel Watson, spoke about UFO rumors and scares of World War I. Many of the incidents involved pilots seeing unexplained artificial lights in the skies, which they tried to follow. But one of the more sensational cases involved claims about the 'Red Baron,' who was flying on a mission over Belgium in 1917, when he encountered a saucer-shaped craft about 130 ft. in diameter, with undulating orange lights. Supposedly, the Red Baron shot down the craft and two people escaped on the ground-- though Watson felt the veracity of this account, which emerged in 1999, was somewhat questionable.
One interesting incident took place in Turkey in 1915, when several hundred British troops were said to go up to the top of a hill, when a large cloud came over the hill. When the cloud went away, the soldiers had disappeared. He also touched on the British airship scare of 1909, in which a tube-shaped object was seen on the ground that left a 54 ft. long gouge, and a "cigar-shaped boat" was observed in the sky.
